What is included in a "standard" Rhino steel building
package?
Standard steel metal buildings include all steel
building frames amd panels, cast zinc aluminum screws, color wall
panels and color trim, closures and mastic at the base, top of the
wall panel and underneath the roof sheet at the eave to completely
seal the building. Also included is an erection manual and framed
opening for a door up to 20' wide. Base trim and cover trim for overhead
doors is also standard with 3 sets of stamped prints and letter of
certification, Even simple farm storage buildings
can be more esthetically appealing with Rhino's standard features.
Does my building come with anchor bolts? Can I buy them
from you?
Anchor bolts secure your steel building frames to the slab
foundation. The manufacturer does not furnish anchor bolts but they are
easily obtained locally.
What makes a Rhino steel building unique and how do you
compare with your competition?
Simply put, we provide more standard items than our competitors. And
unlike most prefabricated steel buildings, we provide
PBR roof and wall panels, zinc cast aluminum screws with galvalume
panels, standard closures, overlapping purlins, 25 year written warranty
for color panels, clips already welded to frames for the attachments
of girts and purlins making the erection process easier, all AISC
certified manufacturing plants, standard base trim and cover trim
for all overhead door framed openings.
Who provides the design for concrete slabs?
The manufacturer supplies a complete anchor bolt design with
the building dimensions and reactions (or KIPS). From this information
an engineer (hired by the customer) can design the proper foundation
(required to receive local permits).
What kind of foundation is required?
The structure can be built on piers or a perimeter foundation with
or without a concrete slab. If a slab is poured, it is normally poured
at the same time as the perimeter foundation. Many farm building
plans, for instance, only require piers. If only piers are
used we need to delete the base angle and use a base girt. The base
girt is larger and of thicker metal which will support the sidewall
sheathing without the use of a concrete foundation. The advantage
of perimeter foundations is the way the building would be sealed.
There is a closure strip that matches the corrugation of the panels
and is inserted between the bottom of the wall panel and the base
angle around the entire perimeter. This seals the building in a way
that cannot be matched by a base girt or by dirt pushed up against
it.
