Do you recommend using a butyl sealant tape on all roof seams?

It is recommended in the buildings plans and erection manual to place Butyl sealant( tape mastic) at all locations on the roof where the panals overlap. This will help insure a weathertight roof. We do not normally apply tape mastic to the walls

Does Rhino erect the buildings or do I have to do it myself?

Rhino Buildings are all bolt together with no welding required. Each building order comes with an erection manual and a Video tape or CD showing how the building is assembled. A larges percentage of Rhino customer’s erect the building themselves, saving themselves a good amout of money. Rhino has four people in customer service, that can answer any question over the toll free number you may have during the erction process.

For those customers wanting an erection crew, Rhino can give you the names of crews that have erected buildings for Rhino’s customer’s for years that you may contact.

Rhino does not have any company crews, but we do have a list of independent erectors that have erected buildings for our customers for years. They would carry their own insurance and meet the building at time of delivery to unload it.

One framed opening is included but not the overhead door itself. Overhead doors may be obtained from Rhino at additional cost or may be purchased locally.

What type of foundation is required for a metal building?

Pier and beam or concrete slab foundations may be employed. However, we strongly recommend that all building foundations be designed by an experienced local foundation engineer. This engineer can also recommend excavation procedures, drainage practices, form work, reinforcing steel requirements and concrete proportioning. This will assure proper designs, expedite the work and reduce costs. Your Rhino Steel building is shipped with engineered stamped blueprints.

What is the difference between galvalume and color roof?

Galvalume is an aluminum/zinc finish that is silver flaked in color. Colors of your choosing may be applied to this finish that are highly durable and come with a 25 year warranty.

PBR roof and wall panels (26 gauge high tensile steel) are standard in Rhino’s metal building kits. PBR panels feature extra overlap (see below right) for increased strength and water resistance. Other prefab metal buildings use “R” panels with shorter overlap and less metal to metal contact. See our steel building options page for panel color choices.

No. Standard with Rhino buildings is a base trim package that seals the building at the base. Therefore a notch in the foundation is not required
